Our Story

Independent Publisher Creating Their Own Story

Having worked a W-9 job for over 3 decades, it was time to try something new as working in the corporate world was taking a toll both mentally and physically.  I researched endless opportunities from remote work to other corporate jobs to real estate and more.   I knew I needed something that I could do while traveling as experiencing nature and new adventures is my top priority.  Kindle Direct Publishing kept surfacing during my research so I started to dig a little deeper.  I found many “gurus” who professed to know everything about KDP (self-publishing) so I watched countless videos and read countless articles before I decided to jump in.

My first journal was “Big Ideas Start Here”.  It was a great starting point to learn about the process (there is certainly a lot to learn).  It was fun and “relatively” easy.  More importantly, it sparked something inside and I knew I had found what I wanted to do.  Simple journals and notebooks led to coloring and activity books.  Each type of book is a bit more complex than the last.  Now it’s on to marketing and building a customer base.

Why Amazon?  I know people either love or hate Amazon.  Amazon KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) offers entrepreneurs, creators, and aspiring authors a unique platform to start a business with relatively “low risk”.  Creators design and create their books, upload them to Amazon, and showcase their products in front of billions of shoppers. Once purchased, their book is printed and shipped so there is no need for an author to have inventory.  Now, that sounds easier than it really is.  There’s a lot that goes into getting your books to rank and actually be seen, but that’s for another time.   So the next time you’re searching for books, journals, notebooks, coloring books, etc. on Amazon, look for those that are “Independently Published”, your purchase will support entrepreneurs just like me.

Thank you for visiting my site.  I hope you have found something of interest.  Please consider sending your email (you’ll get some freebies if you do).  I’ll let you know about any new releases!
